Beiteng School was located in Changsha, capital of the Hunan province in China.
They marketed themselves for being able to cure the claimed illness Internet Addiction Disorder, which is not included in the present edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
In 2010 16-year-old Chen Shi died as result of his stay in the camp only 2 days after being dropped off by his mother. He had been lured to the camp by his mother based of recommendation from the staff. They claimed that the death was caused by Sunstroke, but it became clear that the death was caused by violence.
